Four arrests after aggravated robbery

Four people have been arrested after an aggravated robbery in Canterbury overnight.

Police say four offenders armed with weapons entered a house at a rural property in Springston, Canterbury at about 1.30am.

They held the occupants for a period of time before stealing various items, including a car.

One of the occupant received minor injuries, but did not require medical treatment.

Police arrived as the offenders were leaving in two cars, and pursued both vehicles.

One chase ended in Rolleston, where a police dog was used to locate two people after they ran from the car.

Police arrested two more alleged offenders at a rural property in the Dunsandel area.

Four people will appear in the Christchurch District Court on March 28, on a variety of charges.
