Victims of fatal Patea milk tanker crash identified

The names of the three people  killed in last month's Patea milk tanker crash have been released.

Brother and sister Cherylene Alison Bayne, 61, and John James William Bayne, 64, were killed along with Chantelle Nikita Giles, 22. All were from Patea.

The crash happened on February 25 when a car collided with the tanker in the south Taranaki town.

The driver of the tanker, Michael Douglas Fairclough, 53, was found dead in his home days after the accident.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner.

Police would like to thank the people that stopped and assisted at the scene.
