Many towns across New Zealand are home to a war memorial.

After World War I, they popped up everywhere. Then came memorial halls and memorial libararies.

All up, New Zealand has close to 2000 of them.

On Monday – Anzac Day – they'll become the centre of attention. Then most of us will ignore them for another year.

Jendy Harper meets Jock Phillips, a New Zealander who makes a habit of visiting cenotaphs and obelisks around the country.
