Cake maker Stacey Williams has gifted a 5.5kg Anzac cake to the Wanganui RSA.

The cake is decorated with multiple Anzac symbols, including a rifle, boots, military hat, medals and poppies. Everything is edible.

The whole process took two and a half weeks to complete.

The cake was a surprise to the Wanganui RSA, but the mother of two wanted to honour Anzac day, the RSA and its members.

"It's our honour to gift what we can to honour those who have served and serve now. Our military link will always be a great part of who we are and our future," she wrote in a Facebook post.

Anzac Day is significant for Ms Williams and her husband, who both served in the military.

Ms Williams met her husband when she was a caterer, and he a vehicle mechanic. Her grandfather also served.

"I have links and family history with military, so it was my way of being able to say thank you to those who served and are still serving, and are close friends of ours," she told Newshub.

Ms Williams has taken over the Cherry Cottage with her full-time business, Stacey's Cakes, for the last four years.
