Grass fire near Raglan

The fire service has been called out to a grass fire near Raglan this afternoon.

Three crews were called to Kawhia Rd near a marae just before 1pm.

The fire was approximately 100 metres up a bank, Shift Commander Megan Ruru told Newshub.

It has been extinguished and all the hotspots are out.

No-one or their properties were in danger.

Meanwhile, a scrub fire has broken out in Whatawhata, Hamilton.

The fire is approximately 250m by 250m in size, and burning out of control.

Seven crews are currently at the scene.
