You could be wasting your time.
We found out a lot of it is not being recycled at all.
Story has been investigating rumours for a few weeks that at least one company in Wellington was taking recycling straight to the landfill.
All those cans, plastic and glass bottles people painstakingly set aside for recycling to help the planet -- going straight into the landfill with normal rubbish.
But that's not all Story found out. There was more and it was happening in one of New Zealand's major cities.
