Police search Christchurch property

Police have shot and killed a dog after searching a Christchurch property this morning.

Police were at the Yaldhurst property around 7:30am, executing a routine search warrant. A dog attacking a police dog and police officers was shot and killed.

The occupants at the address are known for "dishonestly offending", police say. They have been removed from the property as an investigation continues.

Christchurch Transport Operations Centre says Yaldhurst Rd is open and traffic flow is back to normal.
