Two teenage boys from an exclusive east Auckland school are in hospital after an incident during a school production last night.

The St Kentigern College students received cuts to the neck during a scene in the school's performance of Sweeney Todd.

One of the 16-year-olds is in a serious condition and the other has moderate injuries.

St John Ambulance staff were called to St Kentigern in Pakuranga around 9pm last night.

The school has so far not commented on the incident.
