A light, 3.6-magnitude earthquake has struck Christchurch this evening.
It was centred 10km east of the city at a depth of 17km, and occurred at 5:45pm.
More than 300 people in the Christchurch city region reported to GeoNet that they felt the shake.
The last earthquake in the area was a magnitude-2.9 at 9:47 this morning. It was centred 5km east of Christchurch at a depth of 10km.
