Investigators hope to talk to Lindis crash survivor

(File)

Investigators are hoping the only survivor of a fatal helicopter crash in Lindis Pass will be able to speak to them in the "next few days".

The passenger, 32-year-old Liam Edwards from Otautau, was killed when the Robinson R2 chopper went down in foggy conditions on Saturday.

The pilot, fifty-one-year-old Murray Sarginson, was critically injured.

A three-person Civil Aviation Authority team are likely to make another attempt to get to the crash site today, after poor weather stopped them on Sunday.
