Police have dismissed rumours they've found a missing gang associate missing since March.

They're still looking for Horowhenua man Palmiro MacDonald, whose disappearance may have something to do with the razing of a gang-linked house at Hokio Beach on March 23.

Detective Inspector Ross McKay says the family and police have "serious concerns" about his wellbeing.

So far police have executed a number of search warrants in Horowhenua and have found a number of items of interest.

They're still keeping an open mind about what may have happened.

Mr MacDonald was last seen on the afternoon of March 23 when he was seen as a passenger in a silver 2004-2005 Holden Commodore with a distinctive boot spoiler and silver custom mag wheels.

"The exact circumstances of Mr MacDonald's disappearance are still unclear, but it is out of character," Insp McKay says.

Mr MacDonald's family has also set up a Facebook page in an effort to try find him.
