A mid-air trapeze artist has broken a world record above Ashburton this morning -- but she ended up in hospital afterwards.
Anna Cochrane broke the record for the highest ever static trapeze act, performing her routine suspended below a hot air balloon at an altitude of 12,000ft, or more than 3600m.
She had 45 minutes to complete the stunt and enter the record books.
The record didn't come without incident however; Ms Cochrane managed to possibly break a rib mid-attempt, and has been taken to hospital for assessment.
