Livestream: Work begins on the Auckland City Rail Link

Today marks the beginning of the construction of the Auckland City Rail Link.

First proposed almost a century ago, the $2.5 billion project will double the capacity of the city's rail network.

Auckland Mayor Len Brown has driven the project forward, and sees it as a major part of solving the city's transport woes.

He calls today one of the biggest days in the city's history.

Watch the livestream of the opening ceremony.
