Three people are in hospital, one in critical condition, following a serious crash between two cars near the town of Pareora.
The collision took place at the Half Chain Road and State Highway 1 intersection at around 7.30pm Saturday night.
A male patient is in critical condition following the crash while another male and female are both in a stable condition.
Diversions were in place via Pareora River Road as the Serious Crash Unit investigated the circumstances of the crash.
