It's not a good week to be a Government press officer. First Social Housing Minister Paula Bennett's press secretary said too much.

Now, Corrections Minister Judith Collins' people are saying too little.

Collins' press team failed to reply to multiple requests for comment after their boss was publicly embarrassed on Story last night. The TV3 show revealed how easy it was to cut through the new, allegedly cut proof, electronic monitoring bracelets.

While Ms Collins said the new ones were unlikely to be able to be cut off without the help of a chainsaw, all it took was a few snips from our strong cameraman, Billy Weepu.

Both Story co-host Heather du Plessis-Allan and reporter Dan Parker have tried to make contact with Collins' press team -- neither got a reply.

The minister was out and about today talking police dogs, but not bracelets.
