Kiwi woman told she would never walk again proves everyone wrong

Rose Vaea's life literally changed overnight.

After a car accident in Rarotonga with her family, she injured her spine and was told she would never be able to walk again or be independent.

Ms Vaea was a passenger in the car and the accident was not her fault but she was the one who ended up in hospital with serious damage to her vertebrae in her neck.

She went to Burwood Spinal Unit before heading to the Laura Fergusson home in Wellington where people go to adjust to their new life of care, around the clock support and in some cases, intensive rehabilitation.

But once it was discovered she had movement returning, Ms Vaea started setting goals and her journey has been nothing but inspiring.
