Pokémon Go fan upbeat about Pikachu

A 21-year-old dancer has used his pursuit of Pikachu in Pokémon Go to inspire a hip-hop video around Christchurch.

Filmed in two days, the video shows Jeffery Hu adventuring around the city in places like the Botanical Gardens and Sumner, trying to catch Pikachu on the app which has taken the country by storm.

Mr Hu is a "huge fan" of the game and was addicted, so he used it as inspiration for his dancing.

He reached out to his friend from Raw Cinematics and came up with Pokémon Go: Dancing for Pikachu.

The response has been awesome, he says.

And while he has a few more video ideas in the pipeline, that will have to wait until after the World Hip Hop Dance Championships in Las Vegas next month.

Mr Hu is part of Swarm Dance Crew, the current national champs, who are competing in the competition.
