There's been encouragement for people to build their own homes rather than buy existing ones and that's what a group of Hawke's Bay residents have done.
They were delighted with their brand new homes but unfortunately the front of their houses have become talking points - and not in a positive way.
The driveways are receiving the most attention and getting the most remarks because they have fallen victim to the 'Pinto' effect where the concrete has turned black and white and looks blotchy.
It seems the houses which have these blotchy driveways were also supplied concrete by the same company.
But who's to blame in this situation? The residents want to know who's going to front up and fix the mess.
