Feeding homeless just the start for Kiwi hero

The housing crisis has been sweeping across New Zealand with people living in their cars, homeless with nowhere to go.

But in one city, help is at hand and it's coming from one person we can all call a true Kiwi hero.

Kiri Swannel from Napier has just been named New Zealand Community Hero of the Year for her sterling work with the homeless.

She and her husband hit the streets and feed the homeless and with the caravan she and her husband got four months ago, they can do three course meals.

She's an example of someone taking action and doing something about the homeless issue but she's not just feeding the homeless; she's on a mission.
