Luuka Jones finished dead last in her first Olympics at Beijing and then a horror training accident overshadowed her performance four years later in London.
But it was the classic case of third time lucky when she came out of nowhere to win the silver medal in the canoe slalom in Rio.
She was ranked 23rd in the world so it wasn't expected but she had the run of her life and hasn't been able to wipe the smile off her face since.
We caught up with the athlete who tells Story she's fulfilled a dream which dates back 20 years to a note she wrote in English class.
