Two people have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries from a car crash south of the Bombay Hills.
The crash occurred just before five this morning on State Highway One near Pioneer Road in Mercer.
Northern Fire Service Shift Manager, Daniel Nicholson, says it was a grim scene on arrival.
"Two persons were trapped in one vehicle. Both persons were status two. One person was trapped in another vehicle," he says.
Status two means serious injuries. Firefighters had to cut the occupants free from their cars.
