Three people received burns in a house fire in Whanganui on Thursday afternoon.
Four fire engines are still on Harrison Street battling the blaze, which has fully involved the single-storey property.
The fire service initially said one person had serious burns and the other has moderate burns. Both are suffering from smoke inhalation.
A neighbouring property has also been "compromised".
But a St John spokesperson said three people were treated - one in a serious condition who was taken to Whanganui Hospital while two others had minor injuries.
