It's a commonly held belief that dogs hate mailmen, but not this Tauranga puppy.
Every day this dog waits for a pat from the post delivery man, says owner Michael Collins in a Facebook post.
"Just want to share something cool! Everyday whether or not we have mail this mail man always stops to see my dog who is only nine months old. He always gets overlooked as a dangerous or unapproachable dog, maybe cause he's big I am not sure," he said.
"He doesn't bark at them or growl (Maybe the odd couple times he barks at people but which dog doesn't ) But this guy here always makes an effort to get off his bike to give him a hug and a pat! I'm not sure who to tag on Facebook for him to see this! But thanks man keep up the good job and you've definitely got a friend waiting for ya!!"
NZ Post Regional Manager Dean Horsup has praised the video.
"Obviously posties, who are out on the street a lot, do have issues with roaming or aggressive dogs from time to time and we train our staff to treat all dogs with caution. However, in this case, it's very clear these two are great friends," he said.
