Christ's College in Christchurch was forced into lockdown for just over an hour this morning, after a man entered school grounds and threatened staff.

It's understood he threatened to come back with a gun.

Police were called just after nine o'clock. They located the man and are speaking with him.

The lockdown has now been lifted, and principal Garth Wynne says all boys and staff are safe and the school is operating as normal.
