A Chinese tourist has pleaded guilty over a crash which claimed the life of a young Dunedin photographer.

Limin Ma, 41, of Shanghai, has accepted a charge of careless driving causing death after he collided with 26-year -old Riley Baker's motorcycle on State Highway 1 north of Dunedin two weeks ago.

Ma, who was on holiday in New Zealand, was pulling over into a rest area on the opposite side of the road to get a better view of the ocean and didn't see Mr Baker's motorcycle.
