Tradies of the future say they're anything but lazy

Earlier this week, Story did a piece asking if young Kiwis had become lazy and entitled, on the back of comments from a tradie struggling to find committed workers.

We were inundated with feedback and emails from young workers and apprentices saying they believe that is not the case.

We found the best apprentices at Got A Trade Week which is a national campaign aimed at young people so they can learn about 'on the job' training and careers in New Zealand's trades and services.

They're the apprentices of the future and they're hard-working, keen, committed and ambitious.

They believe they make themselves available at every opportunity and they're persistent and give everything a go whether they enjoy it or not.
