Children aged 12, 13 and 15 arrested over Auckland liquor store robberies

Five people have been arrested after a series of aggravated robberies in the Auckland suburb of Three Kings, including a child as young as 12.

The Liquor Legends store on Duke St was robbed on July 20 and 23, and again on August 13.

Police say search warrants were carried out this morning in Mangere, Papatoetoe, Manukau and Mt Roskill.

A 12-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, two 15-year-old boys and a 26-year-old woman have all been charged with aggravated robbery.

Four of them will appear in the Auckland Youth Court on Tuesday afternoon. The 12-year-old boy will appear tomorrow.

The 26-year-old woman is related to three of the boys.

The shop's owners were relieved to hear the news, police say.

Following the robberies, the store had been leaving its doors locked after 6pm so it could monitor each customer that came in.

Two of the staff had been injured in the August 13 robbery, with one hospitalised after he was bottled in the back of the head and another injured by a plank of wood smashed around his eye and knee.
