A few weeks ago, Story received an email from Courtney Allison, the lead singer and songwriter from a small band in Greymouth.
Ms Allison wants a career in making music, but it's been challenging and a struggle to break through.
It's costly and hard for the singer and her band, who live on the West Coast, away from the big music studios.
But this situation is one which may strike a chord with many young musicians in New Zealand so we went to hear their story.
