State Highway 6 in Marlborough has now been reopened after a fatal accident early on Sunday morning.
The incident saw a pedestrian killed after being struck by a vehicle.
Police were called to the scene of the collision, between Pelorus and Havelock, and closed part of SH6 just before 12:15am.
A detour was put in place as the Serious Crash Unit attended the scene, but both lanes have since reopened.
