An 18-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the attempted armed robbery of a dairy in Christchurch.
Police investigating that and another dairy robbery on Monday afternoon, say in both cases an axe was wielded, and a worker was assaulted.

They released disturbing CCTV footage of one of the robberies in which the axe-wielding man entered the dairy on Curletts Rd.
Police say they are working with staff from both dairies who are understandably shaken by the events.
A second person is still being sought.
