A bus was evacuated with smoke billowing from its windows in Dunedin on Thursday afternoon.
The Fire Service says one truck was sent to the Taieri Road call-out at 2:45pm, with a member of the public saying he "emptied three fire extinguishers" before they arrived.
Police also responded to the incident and said two people were treated for smoke inhalation.
