Vatican astronomer talks alien life on Great Barrier Island

We're usually told to pick between science or religion - it's one or the other, and you can't possibly believe in both.

Well, the Pope's astronomer has something he wants to tell viewers.

Brother Guy Consomalgno has been a post doctorate at Harvard and MIT, and has discovered a new way of measuring the universe.

On Great Barrier Island during the weekend, planetary scientists and experts came together to discuss if there's other life out there.

It's a long way from the Vatican but the Papal astronomer was there to talk about alien life and why the Vatican want to get involved with science at all.
