Kiwi sisters take on US challenge to tame American Mustangs

The Wilson sisters are three down-to-earth Kiwi girls who did something that took a sense of adventure, but more than a little bravery.

They live north of Whangarei and first became famous for their TV series Keeping Up With The Kaimanawas.

They tamed, and in the process saved, hundreds of Kaimanawa wild horses.

Recently they took on a bigger challenge after being invited to participate in a US competition where they had 100 days to tame an American mustang.

Adventures and road trips along the way inspired the sisters to write a book about their time in the Wild West, including their encounter with a bear.

Story went to meet them and take a lesson on how to tame a wild horse.
