Body found in water at Napier's Marine Parade beach

A member of the public has found a body in the water at Napier's Marine Parade beach. A man is understood to have drowned.

A rescue helicopter was called in after a member of the public alerted police to the incident at Marine Parade Beach about 3pm.

A body was then recovered from the water and police could be seen comforting a woman on the beach.
