Nelson police are looking for 41-year-old Karl Robertson, who has not been seen since Wednesday morning.
Mr Robertson has Asperger's syndrome, and his disappearance is out of character.
Mr Robertson is of medium build and approximately 175cm tall, and it is believed he may be in the Richmond or Stoke area.
Anyone with information relating to Mr Robertson's whereabouts is asked to contact police.
