Hamilton police are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The fire seriously damaged a car parked inside a carport on Tauwhare Rd in Hamilton.
Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson of the Hamilton CIB says emergency services were called to the address at around 3am and arrived to find the car and carport well ablaze.
"Prompt calls from the neighbours to the 111 service allowed firefighters to contain the blaze to the vehicle and carport, keeping the damage to a minimum."
Police will be remaining at the address for the remainder of the day, where a scene examination is currently underway.
