The building has been "totally damaged" by the fire, and police have now been called because the situation is being treated as suspicious, a Fire Service spokesperson told Newshub.

At one stage there was concern an 11,000-volt power box could catch fire.

Three fire crews remain at the site to dampen down hotspots and help clean up.
