Nelson boy threatened with knife

A Nelson teenager has been left shaken after an attempted knife attack on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the boy was walking along Arapiki and Main Roads in Stoke when a white Toyota car pulled up.

A man got out of the vehicle presenting a knife with the intention of cutting the teen's arm.

The victim suffered a minor cut as he tried to get away from the man.

Police say the attacker then got back into the vehicle that did a U-turn and sped off.

The attacker is believed to be in his 20s with dark hair with a rats tail, wearing an orange t-shirt and red shorts.

The getaway driver is believed to have an afro and wearing a red shirt with dark shorts.
