New aerial photos of Kaikoura's coastline show the extent of the damage following last month's 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and the New Zealand Transport Agency released satellite images which show extreme rockfall and land shifts.
LINZ hopes the photos will help recovery agencies identify hazards and rebuild roads.
Damaged roads and the continued risk of falling rocks has kept State Highway 1 north and south of Kaikoura closed since November 14.
