Gable Tostee's ex-girlfriend Liz Evans is now calling for justice for dead Kiwi Warriena Wright.

"I just wanted to do the right thing. I don't want to hurt her family either however further," she told Newshub.

Ms Evans was in a relationship with Mr Tostee during his trial for murdering 26-year-old Ms Wright. She died after falling from the balcony of his Gold Coast apartment in 2014, after going back to his place following a Tinder date.

In a public post to Facebook, Ms Evans labelled Ms Wright a "self-confessed psycho" who "felt it OK to assault people without warning in their own home".

However, she broke up with Mr Tostee after his October acquittal - accusing him of leaving her "emotionally starved" and reverting to his hard-partying lifestyle.

"He wants to live like that forever," Ms Evans told the Daily Mail Australia.

"It was either his way or no way... We had hoped to begin a new chapter of life but he became resistant. I just had no more to give in the end."

Now, she has apologised in a Facebook post for her comments on Ms Wright, and wants justice for her death.

"Sometimes you need to take accountability for your actions full stop or for the words you spoke. I let someone down when I didn't know her story and I did not truly understand what I was dealing with in another," she says.

"Sorry is not enough but I hope if there is justice, at any stage, it eases if not but a little of the pain this family is still going through."

The post was linked to a memorial page for Ms Wright.
