KFC lovers who missed out on the fast food chain's limited-edition scented candle this summer now have another chance to get their hands on the finger lickin' goodness.

One of the rare candles is being auctioned off to raise money for Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ).

When lit, the candle has smells like the distinctive 11 "secret" herbs and spices associated with the brand's fried chicken.

The candle is handmade, meaning only a few were given away during a social media campaign in December.

Other items in the SLSNZ auction have been donated by freestyle skier Byron Wells, pro surfer Ella Williams, the Crusaders, surfer Daniel Kereopa, the Highlanders and Olympic slopestyle skier Anna Willcox.

Every year the SLSNZ's summer appeal aims to raise money to support the 4500 volunteer lifeguards on duty over the summer.
