Houses in Halswell are being evacuated from Halswell Quarry up towards the end of Kennedys Bush Road. Those in the area who have left their homes should head to Halswell Library.
Displaced residents in Selwyn have been asked to make their way to Selwyn Events Centre on Meijer Drive, Lincoln.
Emergency services earlier evacuated some residents on Worsleys Rd in Westmorland.
Evacuated resident Elise Wilson says her family filled her car and left as soon as she could.
"We were advised to get out, they are not letting anyone in, so if you leave you can't get back in," she said.
Up to 60,000 properties had their electricity knocked out across Christchurch on Wednesday afternoon before it was restored shortly afterward.
The outage affected nearly 100 suburbs.
Power company Orion says smoke or flames caused the power lines to trip, causing the outage.
