A man has gone missing while swimming in Lake Karapiro this afternoon.
Waikato Police were alerted to the missing man just after 3.30pm on Sunday.
Meanwhile another swimmer is missing at Muriwai Beach in Auckland.
Emergency services have been searching the water this evening after two men got into difficulty.
One man was recovered from the water in a serious condition and has been taken to hospital. The second man is still missing.
Police and lifeguards have been searching the water, and the Westpac Helicopter has been searching from the air.
Both searches have been stood down for the night due to fading light however will resume in the morning.
