Video has emerged of an unlucky driver of a jetboat coming off second best after crashing the boat he was driving into the only pole in the water.
The crash, believed to have happened in the Greymouth area, was caught on tape and shows the speedster racing down the mouth of a river before turning towards a bank.
It appears the driver attempts to power down as he gets closer to the pole - but crashes into it head-on.
The video posted to Facebook has been viewed more than 150,000 and has more than 2400 comments in less than a day.
