Christchurch police are appealing for information after a firearm-wielding man in a Halloween-type mask attacked a woman.
On Saturday the woman was on Riccarton Avenue, near the cricket oval and pavilions, when a man approached her from behind and pressed the firearm to her head.
She screamed and pulled away, and the man ran off.
He was wearing a baggy grey hoodie, dark trousers and a beige Halloween-type mask, and was carrying what appeared to be a small dark-coloured firearm.
