Jars of jam and bottles of beer marked the scene of a crash in Canterbury on Thursday morning.
A truck went off the side of State Highway 7 between Hurunui and Waikari at around 8am, sending its produce scattered across the road.
The disaster saw the loss of around 26 tonnes of strawberry jam, pet food and beer, and both lanes of the road were blocked for a time.
A police spokesperson says the driver was uninjured in the crash.
Roadworkers told Newshub a clean-up operation would get underway in the afternoon.
