The terror of the deep has struck on land, to the disbelief of those in Christchurch.
A man dressed in a blue and white shark onesie was one of two people who held up a petrol station near the city overnight.
They threatened BP Rolleston staff with a hammer and a knife before making off with a haul of candy at around 2:20am.
Police were unable to track down the pair on Monday night, but the hunt will continue on Tuesday.
Newshub took to the streets to see if we could help police track down the offenders, but we didn't have much luck.
"Are you taking the piss?" one person asked us.
