Thursday night's powerful earthquake that rocked Marlborough has been followed by aftershocks.
The magnitude 5 quake struck at 9:42pm, and nearly 2500 people reported on the GeoNet website that they felt it.
The strongest aftershock was a magnitude 3.4 at 3:10am.
There were no initial reports of injuries, according to St John.
