A crash on Riddiford St in Wellington on Sunday morning has taken down trolley bus wires.
One person was taken to hospital after the car crashed into a pole, one block away from the hospital, at 4:30am.
A kebab shop which had recently been earthquake-strengthened was also damaged.
Police have questioned a skateboarder, who was the only witness.
