The driver of a four-wheel drive has died after a collision with an oncoming tanker in Southland.
Police were called to the scene on the Riverton-Wallacetown Highway, Oporo at approximately 7:50am on Sunday.
The driver of the four-wheel drive died at the scene. There are no further injuries.
The road is closed between the intersections of Taramoa Rd and Cumnock St, Wallacetown, with diversions in place.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
